Pamela F asked: I have been going to the gym for a little over 3 months now, and have strictly been doing cardio activity, usually for an hour 3-4 times a week. I recently decided to incorporate weights into my routine because my weight loss had slowed and I wanted some tone, particularly in my arms and back. Is there a certain ratio of time a should dedicate to cardio vs. weights?

peach asked: I do 30 min. of step aerobics 3-4 times per week. I notice that I sweat a lot more and my heart rate is higher when I add 2lb weights.
Does anyone know how many more calories are burned by adding 2lb weights?

rifleman wannabe asked: im 15 years old and i weigh 147 pounds. Every other day i do 35 reps with 3kg weights on each arm then i do 15 sit ups 10 press ups and finish off with a 15 minute jog, my first question is is this a good routine to build upper body strength? and my second question is shall i buy a punching bag and add that to my routine?

Chivas asked: I’m 16 years old and have been told it’s the perfect time to lift weights and try to gain some muscle. I don’t want to get big and buff, but I do want to be trim and toned. I’m pretty skinny, but I’m a flabby skinny. I really don’t know where to begin, though. Can anyone suggest workouts? And also, how many reps and sets should I do?
